Artist Statement
After my Dad passed away, I found a series of candid photos on his camera—including a shot of two girls leaning into each other on the beach, absorbed in what looked like shared whispers. My Dad was an avid photographer, and this image captured his unique ability to notice quiet, fleeting moments.

Painting Secrets was my way of seeing through his eyes one last time. Rather than rendering a photographic copy, I focused on the feeling of the scene—the warmth of the sun, the tactile texture of sand, and the natural intimacy between the figures. It explores the private lives we catch glimpses of, while honoring the way an artist or photographer preserves a moment in time. Ultimately, this piece is about the subtle, quiet connections we inherit from the people we love.
